Neuter (Orchiectomy)

Neuter (Orchiectomy)

Orchiectomy is the medical procedure commonly known as neutering male pets. Neutering involves removing both testicles.  Neutering provides many health benefits such preventing testicular cancer.  If done at 6 months or slightly after, neutering can help prevent behaviours such as aggression, territorial behaviour and unwanted sexual behaviour.  It is important to note that these behaviours are a combination of medical and learned behavioural traits.  If given proper attention, these behaviours can be prevented.  If these behaviours start, it is vital to address them immediately before your pet learns these habitats.
